North East Lincolnshire cleans up recycling with the new Taylor Street™ recycling container housing.
North East Lincolnshire council has recently introduced the new Taylor Street™ recycling units to encourage the public to recycle more, and with more ease.
The location where the Street™ has been installed is a busy council owned shoppers car park, where the previous recycling facilities added to persistent problems of fly tipping, spoiling the aesthetic scene of the area, and discouraging people from recycling.
Now, it is a different environment with the clean, robust and attractive Taylor Street™, with its secure and vandal resistant qualities promoting increased participation, reduced fly-tipping and improving the feeling of safety of the area.
Chris Dunn, Waste Operations Manager and Ian Graham, Recycling Officer at North East Lincolnshire council commented “We have received a number of positive comments from members of the public on the new look, and the ease of use of the Street™ on this site. The use of this facility will be recorded daily on the volume of recycling collected on the site, as well as within the East Midlands “Grimsby in Bloom” competition.”
About the Taylor Street™
The Taylor Street™ is a whole new range of aesthetic recycling and waste container housings, achieving place shaping and boosting public recycling in the urban environment for high density property developments and on-street recycling (recycling on the go). The Taylor Street™ will help to take municipal recycling rates above 40%, including solutions for the collection of food waste.
The Taylor Street™ is a durable housing accommodates a four wheeled 1100 litre or 1280 litre bin. The unit is modular, so any number of units can be joined together. The large steel door locks securely to prevent unauthorised entry and it can be powder coated in a large range of colours or equally attractive left as the plain brushed steel finish. One of the key benefits is a large area on the front door panel, which provides a great opportunity for logos, signage and for recycling text.
The base of the unit features anti-vermin brushes to deter mice and rats, thereby increasing the attraction of the unit. Above the door, a rotationally moulded lid contains apertures for the deposit of recycling or residual waste. It has been specifically designed to have minimum height to minimise shadows and enable most people to see over the top, and a roof that curves to avoid waste being perched on top.
The Taylor Street ™offers value for money as well as durable quality and it is simple to install outside apartments, in town centres, housing developments, in parks and almost anywhere.
